Discover Vietnam Golf and Sightseeing Tour: March 20 April 05, 2020

Vietnam is the easternmost country in the Indochina Peninsula. With a population of over 89 million, it is the 13th most populous country in the World. Emerging from the various prolonged military conflicts, Vietnam instituted political and economic reforms resulting in economic growth being one of the highest in the world in the past decade. This has resulted in numerous investments in the tourism infrastructure. Part of these developments are the numerous high-quality golf courses that have recently been opened such as Montgomerie Links, and The Dunes Course by Greg Norman.

Designed by renowned IMG Worldwide, this impressive 18-hole, par 71 championship masterpiece is Vietnam’s first international standard island golf course, offering unique island golfing experiences with views of the ocean from every hole. This gem of a golf course provides a challenging layout of 6787 yards stretching over 180 hectares.

Measuring 7,152 yards from the tournament tees, can be played at a manageable 5,348 yards depending on which of the five tees are chosen.

March 31 HOI AN – Golf (B)
Morning round of golf at Danang Golf Club. When Greg Norman checked in on the progress of the Dunes Course, in March 2010, he said: “The fact is, you’d be doing a very poor job to make a boring course out of a site like this.” Certainly Mother Nature had a gigantic hand in the formation of a layout that evokes an experience often found in seaside courses in the British Isles and southeastern Australia. But make no mistake: This is Vietnam. One look at the stunning, par-3 16th hole – back-dropped as it is by traditional, long-tail fishing boats that troll the warm waters of the East Sea – is all it takes.

April 01 – HOI AN – Tour (B,L)
This morning we have the walking tour, visiting the colourful local Hoi An Market where we meet and chat with stall holders about their food. Our walk then continues along both high streets and back streets, discovering out-of-the-way producers and street vendors making and selling a wide variety of exotic foods. We reach The Ancient House where we will enjoy refreshments and taste a wide selection of these local delicacies bought directly from the vendors – most of whom we saw or met on the tour.

You will explore the historic attractions of this charming colonial town on a walking tour. Explore the historic riverside town with stops at the Quang Cong Temple, Phuoc Kien Pagoda, Japanese Covered Bridge and Quang Dung Pagoda.

April 02 – HOI AN – Golf (B)
Morning round of golf at Montgomerie Links voted the best golf course in Vietnam. The traditional links style design features sandy soil, wind-blown dunes, existing native vegetation, strategically placed bunkers, generous and undulating greens and closely mown chipping areas. The course also hosts more water holes than most links courses, including lakes and streams that add further aesthetic appeal.

April 03 – HOI AN – Golf (B)
Morning round of golf at Vin Pearl Golf Hoi An. The golf course is set amongst some very interesting, rolling sand dunes with elevation changes from 4 metres to 11 metres. There are many natural trees on site, with Casaurina pine trees closer to the ocean and deciduous trees further inland to provide a nice contrast across the golf course.

April 04 – HOI AN (B)
Free day to relax or do some last-minute shopping.

April 05 – HOI AN – Departure (B)
Transfer to the airport for flights home.
