Guests will also have an opportunity to visit some of the major sites on North and South islands. The thermal regions of Rotorua and Taupo on the North Island are part of the itinerary along with wine tasting on Waiheke Island near Auckland. Visitors will also visit the real Middle Earth movie set from the Lord of the Rings saga.

Golf Courses

The various courses are the highlights of the tour.

Golfers play the 18-hole, par-70 Arikikapakapa Golf Course at Rotorua with fairways designed near active and dormant thermal areas.

Jack Nicklaus designed the rugged and beautiful Kinloch Golf Club par-72 course at Taupo. This resort was designated the Best International Resort in Australasia for 2018 by Golf Digest.

The 18-hole Wairakei Golf Club in the Taupo area is part of a wildlife sanctuary and tourist park. Golfers share the fairways with the occasional deer and numerous waterfowl.

Gulf Harbour Country Club north of Auckland offers 18 holes on a par-71 course in a setting along a spectacular shoreline reminiscent of Pebble Beach. The links course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. Four sets of tees are available for all ability levels.

Muriwai Golf Club is located in Auckland offering a par-72 links course on a rolling terrain backed by wooded hillsides.

South Island golf begins with the Millbrook Resort that offers 27 holes of golf in a natural alpine setting with the Remarkables Mountain Range as a backdrop. The three nine-hole courses at this resort near Queenstown are The Remarkables, The Arrow, and the newer Coronet Nine. Each course offers different challenges for golfers of all levels.

Jack’s Point Golf Club is set along the shoreline of Lake Wakatipu, only 20 minutes from Queenstown. The 18-hole, par-72 course has five sets of tees. The course measures 6833 meters from the championship tees with fairways bordered by rocky outcroppings, native tussock grasslands, and the stunning lake.

February is late summer in New Zealand and the other islands of the antipodes. This is an exciting way to discover New Zealand’s spectacular scenery while you enjoy golf on award-winning courses.  Full itinerary details for this tour may be found here:
