Unique Golf Vacations

"Where Friendships
are Made"
Greetings,
Michael Ho

The other day I was doing some research online and stumbled across this list (from 2009) of the 100 Best Golf Courses (outside of the USA) from Golf Digest.

I am always looking for new and exciting packages to put together and this list is a great reference! But it's not just about the golf. The destinations I look for must offer unique sightseeing and a cultural experience so that you can truly experience a trip of a lifetime with memories that last forever.

As I work on our programs for 2012 - I'd love to have your feedback. Is there a destination you have always wanted to travel to - and combining it with a few rounds of golf would make it irresistable?

I get lots of emails and phone calls with people asking, "Hey Mike - have you got anything going to ..."

I am always happy to put new packages together and if you have a few friends that want to travel with you - before you know it, we have a small group and I am able to secure discounts for everyone!

Email or call me anytime to discuss your golf vacation dreams. I love talking golf & travel!

Sincerely,

Michael

Unique Golf Vacations Blog

Last month we introduced our new Golf Blog to you and we're excited to say that our blog is now being visited by golf fans from all over the world!

Each week, we feature a new golf course that you will find on various Unique Golf Vacations itineraries.

You'll get the inside scoop from the Head Pro, GM or Director of Golf on what their favourite hole is, how you should play it - and in their opinion - what makes their course so unique!

This month, we have posts from Hawaii, Borneo and Cambodia:

Phokeethra Country Club, Cambodia

Next Month we have plans to take a closer look at South Africa and Dubai in anticipation of announcing some new packages for 2012.

We hope you enjoy learning more about the various courses from around the globe on our NEW GOLF TRAVEL BLOG!

Christmas Gift Idea - Golf Travel Covers

Avid golfers often find our stockings filled with ball markers, bags of golf tees or the latest gadget that is supposed to take 5 strokes off our golf game.

While we all love receiving these items, to a non-golfer - buying something for a golfer can be a little intimidating. Have you ever actually used that golf ball monogrammer?

We spoke with Darcy Reynolds at Golf Plus+ who told us that this time of year, many of their customers are non-golfers who are looking to buy something for the golfer in their life - but have no idea what to buy!

Darcy tells us that one of the most popular gift items this time of year are Golf Travel Covers. (They happen to have a good sale on right now on the IZZO High Roller for $109.95)

We would strongly suggest that if you are taking your clubs with you on your next vacation, consider a good quality travel cover to protect them!

Long Drive Golf Tips

Every golfer wants to learn how to drive golf balls farther down the fairways. You can drive the ball farther by learning and using a few golf tips. First of all, if you think that you have to be 6ft.8in. and weigh 270 pounds to hit it longer, that is simply not the case. A good example would be, Camillo Villegas. He probably weighs around 160 and might be 5ft.9in. or 5ft.10in, yet, he can hit it 300 plus yards. There are certain fundamentals that he and others are using to get them there.

Wine Pick of the Month

M. CHAPOUTIER ~ Rhone Valley, France

Members of the Chapoutier family have been working in the Rhône valley since 1808. A distant ancestor, Polydor Chapoutier, was the first to buy vines here, shifting from being a simple grape grower to making and trading his own wines. Currently Michel Chapoutier manages this beautiful estate which produces superb wines from many of the Rhone appellations.Les Meysonniers

Les Meysonniers 2007

Crozes-Hermitage

This elegant and lush wine is made from 100% organically grown Syrah grapes from the Crozes-Hermitage appellation. You'll find aromas of raspberry and blackcurrant with notes of violets on the finish. Stewed fruits and vanilla are found on the palate with a silky texture on the finish. A beautifully balanced wine that would pair nicely with stuffed, roast pork.
